How to Delete your Facebook Account Permanently?

Facebook is a great tool to connect with your family members and friends, but you also get tons of Advertisement and lots of distractions like Pokes, Tagging, and other things. If you think, you don’t want to use Facebook again. This tutorial guides you, How to delete your Facebook account permanently.

I recommend, Take a backup of your Facebook data first before deleting your Facebook account. Backup data includes the following things given below:-

• Posts, photos and videos you have shared.
• Your messages and chat conversations.
• Info from the About section of your profile.

Backup/save your data

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook Account. Click on little “Arrowhead” to bring the Dropdown menu.

Step 2: Click on “Settings”

Alternatively, you can go to https://www.facebook.com/settings link.

Step 3: Click on “Download a copy of your Facebook data” link.

Step 4: Click on “Start My Archive” button.

Step 5: Enter your “Password”.

Step 6: Click on “Submit” button.

Step 7: Now, request your download, This can take a while to gather your photos, wall posts, messages, and other information.

Click on “Start My Archive” button.

Step 8: As you can see in the image below, They will send you an email once your Archive is ready. Click on “Okay” button to continue.

Step 9: Once, you get the email to download your Archive, click on the link, and then click on “Download Archive” button. After downloading, you can extract it, and you have your posts, photos, about info etc.

Now, you have taken backup of you Facebook data. Let’s delete your Facebook account.

Deleting your Facebook account

Step 10: Go to the link below:-

https://www.facebook.com/help/delete_account?show_form=delete_account

You get the page like this, Click on “Delete My Account” button. You can also learn more about account deletion by clicking on the link in the page.

Step 11: Provide your Password again.

Step 12: Fill the Captcha.

Step 13: Click on “Ok” button.

Step 14: Your Facebook account will be permanently deleted within 14 days. If you still want your Facebook account back, you can log in again with same email and password and get your account back.

Note: Don’t log in if you want your account deleted.
